Electrical Technician / HVAC Support
Morningside University is accepting applications for the position of HVAC & General Electrical Technician in the Physical Plant Department. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of campus electrical systems, equipment, and controls. The role also provides secondary support for HVAC systems, including routine maintenance and basic diagnostics. The position may be assigned additional general maintenance tasks as needed. Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with participation in an on-call rotation as required.
Responsibilities:
Electrical Systems (Primary Focus)
Work with the maintenance manager in recommending upgrades to energy efficient lighting.
HVAC Systems (Secondary Focus)
Perform routine maintenance on air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and related controls.
Assist with troubleshooting HVAC equipment and control systems.
Support maintenance of coolers, freezers, and food service equipment.
Participate in seasonal start-up and shutdown procedures.
General & Preventative Maintenance
